Management of acute neck pain:

By admin | January 27, 2012

There is little need for knowledge of the sources, causes, or mechanisms of pain for the management of acute neck pain. Tumors and infections should be associated with alerting clues from the patient’s history and these are rare. Most cases will recover regardless and even despite treatment is the natural history of acute neck pain. After whiplash two studies have shown that no more sophisticated intervention is required than a schedule of home exercises for the treatment of acute neck pain. Advice to resume normal activities is all that is required is shown by another study. a proportion of patients will develop chronic neck pain despite the favorable natural history of acute neck pain. Austin Chiropractor
